For the Festival´s 13th edition, Stockholm Sangeet is presenting a magnificient, extended festival spanning over four days! In 2019 we also want to give highlight to two special topics: the 150 years anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the unique historical role of classical music and dances as a meeting point for hinduism and islam.
This year the festival will take place at several different venues, and besides the traditional classical music and dance also introduce the folk styles from Bangladesh and elsewhere. There will be activities such as yoga, panel discussions, food, dance workshop and showcases to provide a wider spectrum of experiences.
For the rasikas of tomorrow we also have Young Sangeet with student performances and children´s theatre. The last day at Stallet we will as usual host the popular Open Sangeet where everyone is welcome to meet, hang out, or even take the stage to perform music or dance from the South Asian subcontinent.
Stockholm Sangeet Festival is proud to once again present the world class artists of today as well as those of tomorrow. We still keep ticket costs to a minimum so that everyone can afford to come and bring the family along.
